Tuesday Weld (born August 27, 1943) is an American actress who has appeared in a number of films. She started out as a child actor and worked her way up to more adult parts in the late 1950s. In 1960, she was honoured with the Golden Globe Award for Most Promising Female Newcomer. During the next decade, she developed a successful acting career in films, mostly in tragic parts. Awarded nominations for Golden Globe Awards for Play It As It Lays (1972) and Looking for Mr. Goodbar (1978), as well as an Emmy for The Winter of Our Discontent (1983) and a BAFTA for Once Upon a Time in America (1993), her work as a featured actress in supporting parts has been recognised (1984). Her on-screen appearances have been few and far between since the late 1980s.
