Who Is Indigo Rumbelow? Meet Arts Coordinator Turned Eco-Activist

By Michael King

Indigo Rumbelow is an Arts Coordinator by her profession. However, she is equally enthusiastic about climate issues and has been working with different campaigns as a climate activist.

As per Dailymail, Indigo Rumbelow is from Gower, South West Wales and she has been leading the extinction rebellion Just Stop Oil Protest. As she works as an active activist, she has been arrested several times. However, she seems to be determined in what she is doing.

Rumbelow is a young woman of twenty-seven. According to her, all she wants is to create a sustained disruption for two weeks. She added that her generation has been forced into action because the Government and the concerned authority of the country are destroying their future.

She further added that the activists including her will immediately end all the actions when it makes a statement that it will stop the use of all new oil and gas.

Along with her, there are other activists including Gabriella Ditton, 27 from Norfolk, Louis McKechnie, a Bournemouth University Student, a King's College London Student Nathan McGovern who is 22, and Hannah Hunt, former XR supporter, 23.

Rumbelow explains that they are wanting to change the narrative around fossil fuels. They would never materially want to stop its use. However, by having our faces attached to the action, she believes that she is right and whatever she has been doing is the only right thing to do.

According to her, the society we are living in right now is no where near to sustainable. Therefore, we only have two options left, that is, to act now or else, regret on upcoming days.
